Practical Preservation is a small, woman-owned, DOT-certified DBE specializing in the identification, documentation, and evaluation of historic resources. Our staff has extensive experience in Section 106 review, National Register nominations, architectural surveys, historic tax credit evaluations, historic structure reports, grant writing, and project management.
In addition to traditional preservation services, Practical Preservation brings a practical understanding of site development, infrastructure, transportation, and existing conditions analysis to complex preservation and community revitalization projects. This interdisciplinary approach allows us to help communities balance historic character with long-term functionality, accessibility, and growth.
Our work is guided by honesty, integrity, and the belief that historic buildings are irreplaceable community assets. Practical Preservation is a strong advocate for community revitalization and donates up to 10% of annual profits to preservation efforts nationwide.
